The Song We Never Played is a cinematic indie pop single exploring the end of a relationship and the emotional space between closeness and departure.
Built around expressive lead vocals by Caro Stechl, the track combines subtle groove-driven textures with warm, organic instrumentation and live string recordings performed by members of the Augsburg Philharmonic. The production balances restraint and intensity, creating an atmosphere that is both intimate and forward-moving.
Drawing equally from classical composition and funk- and soul-influenced pop traditions, Schulzki approaches his music as a cinematic form — blending harmonic nuance with groove-driven energy, layered arrangements and a strong sense of emotional narrative.

This song blends cinematic Electro Pop with funky grooves, Moog bass, modular synths and real strings. At its lyrical core, it’s about the bittersweet tension of desire and distance – playful, sexy and emotional at the same time.
For this track I was lucky to work again with an incredible team of musicians, including lead singer Vanessa Spanier, who brings the lyrics to life with her expressive, emotional voice.
Don’t miss it when it drops – choose your platform and listen to „Crush On You“ here.
And to get in the mood, here’s a Spotify playlist with some of my best tracks so far.
Cinematic Electro-Funk Pop with playful grooves and sensual vibes – enjoy! ✨
Give it a listen, add it to your playlists, get a crush on it, and share it with your friends! Thanks so much for your support.
What began as a modular-synth jam in 2020 and first appeared as an electronic instrumental in 2023 grew into a song about the pull between intimacy and restraint, desire and distance.
This is the very first single featuring Vanessa Spanier on lead vocals – and it’s always a joy to have such wonderful artists behind the scenes:
End-of-the-world Nu Disco Funk Pop – Enjoy! ✨ Give it a listen and – as the lyrics say – “let me take you for a little ride”! Add it to your playlists, share it with friends, or just dance along. Thanks so much for being here!
After more than a year without a new release, I’m finally back! During this time, I composed the music for two episodes of the German thriller/crime series Dünentod and prepared our Schulzki & Friends concert in March – two projects I absolutely loved working on.
This new single is also a first for me, as it features singer Caro Stechl on lead vocals.
I’m deeply grateful to these amazing musicians for bringing their talent and energy to this track:
A 70s influenced R&B/Soul/Pop tune with summer vibes, about an exceptional moment shared by two lovers, and the awareness of its singularity and transient nature – Enjoy!
An ode to newfound independence and vitality after a lost love, as a stylistic fusion of Pop and R&B. I`m so happy about the talented artists who contributed their skills – can`t wait for you to hear this! Give it a listen, include it in your playlist, and perhaps spread the word among your friends!… Thank you so much – Enjoy!!
